Code P0706: Transmission Range Sensor A Circuit Range/Performance

Code P0706 (Transmission Range Sensor A Circuit Range/Performance) sets when the TCM sees an open, shorted, or implausible signal from the transmission range sensor that reports gear-selector position (Park/Reverse/Neutral/Drive/Low) to the ECM/TCM. Causes are a maladjusted or worn range sensor at the shift shaft, transmission fluid contamination fouling the sensor, or chafed wiring at the connector on the transmission case.
